ATT Test of Attentional Control

One of the most important aspects of Executive Function is control of the focus of attention. WiltonLogic has developed a simplified version of an attentional search test described by Gold et al (Schizophrenia Research 94:148-155). In our test, the participant is asked to touch the one red circle amongst a set of blue and red shapes. Since the circle is never colored blue, the blue shapes are irrelevant distractors, while the red shapes are potential targets, and thus relevant distractors. By varying the numbers of blue and red shapes, information on the time taken to search through stimulus sets of varying sizes, and the degree to which the test participant is distracted by the irrelevant shapes, can be captured.
