Variable Consecutive Number Test

The ability to complete a sequence of responses to reach a goal, and the ability to stop making those responses when the goal has been attained is an important feature of impulse control. WiltonLogic has constructed the Variable Consecutive Number Test to measure this ability. In this test, starting in the upper right hand corner, the subject must track the yellow target around the circle until he/she decides to try to obtain the reward by touching the central pink button. The reward shows up in the three rainbow colored reward boxes on the left. The exact number of touches required is not the same from trial to trial, but the general rule is that the more touches, the more likely you are to get the reward. After a certain point, the law of diminishing return comes in to play. It is up to participant to decide when to try for the reward based on the feedback they are given by the contents of the reward boxes.
